In response to Sunday Stills Monthly Color Challenge Views in Violet, I’m scrolling through my photo log recalling experiences where our photography brought variations of the color violet.
The following photos are from Orkas Island, Washington….an absolute dream land. We love the Pacific Northwest and are missing it so much. Here are lavender plants near a harbor restaurant and my favorite pottery place, Orkas Island Pottery (now reopened!)
Closer to home, the 6 mile marker in my last half marathon before the pandemic hit.

My niece’s upholstered stool/storage box temporarily serving as a comfy vantage point for my cats.
Our engagement photo taken in front of the Biscuit Paint Wall in the Montrose District of Houston, Texas.

A couple of weeks ago, driving through Texas Hill Country and finally stopping in Brenham for a few photos of blue bonnets (sort of purple, at least hubby is wearing a violet plaid shirt.)

Do you have any violet in your garden? Enjoy the spring!
Gorgeous photos, Tracey! Those little flowers look like violas to me…a mini-version of them, anyways.

Thank you! Violas and lobelia are the input I’ve gotten so far. Either way, they are sure are pretty.

Lovely purples and violets Tracey! Love that lavender field! Orcas island looks wonderful, I’m sure you miss the PNW, we love it here. I recognize those little flowers but I don’t remember off hand. I shared a similar pic before so I will go back and check for you. π

Hi Tracey…beautiful pictures. I hope we can all get together very soon. Norm and I have had our first shots here in Alberta. I think those purple flowers are Lobelia but I may be wrong. Take care lady!

It would be great together. I’m really looking forward to the US/Canada travel constraints being lifted. You are the second person to mention lobelia, so perhaps they are. Getting my second shot Wednesday.

I believe those flowers are lithodora. I had to look them up for a blog post I did a couple of years ago. These were my neighbor’s.

Isn’t it? I bought 2 pieces when I was there. I can’t wait for their on-line store to reopen, but at least they are back at it making beautiful things.

What a great selection of photos! Your Orcas Island ones reminded me of how much we liked our stay in the San Juans a few years back π And your sunsets are gorgeous! I have to say the cute cats distracted me a bit from the violet of the stool however π

So funny because I literally just finished another blogger’s post in my feed about the color orange (https://yeahanotherblogger.com/2021/04/20/an-ode-to-orange/), and yours appeared right after with all the purple and violet. Great picture of you two! – Marty
